This little guy needs help. Based on x-rays, it has been
determined that Suede was most likely hit by a car and left to fend
for himself. The accident caused a sever separation of the
Femoral Head on him right hip and appears to have crushed his left
rear knee. Since we took in Suede we have sought 4
separate vet opinions to determine both his condition and options
for improvement and recovery. Suede is currently being kept
comfortable via a pain management treatment of
anti-inflammatories and pain medication.
The conclusion of our research has brought us what we feel is
good news for Suede, but unfortunately very costly. We have
a surgery estimate of $2700.00 to correct his hip by
performing a FHO (femoral Head Ostectomy). Once that is
complete, he will undergo a 2nd surgery to repair his
shattered knee, which will likely give him more mobility with his
left rear leg. This second surgery, a Wedge Osteotomy with
Fixator, has been quoted at $2600.00.
So to have both surgeries completed, we will need to raise
approximately $5300.00.
